Welcome to Emmanuel Episcopal Church!

For over 125 years, Emmanuel Episcopal Church has been serving the greater Wakefield community in worship, Christian education, spiritual formation, and service to those in need.  Emmanuel is a diverse, active, and welcoming parish.  We are a living rainbow with seniors, families with young children, couples, singles, and young adults.  Young and old, men and women, gay and straight, people of all races and backgrounds find a home here as the people of God.

With Episcopalians throughout the U.S. and Anglicans across the world, we believe that through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ we are shown who we are meant to be and we are drawn into union with God as God's beloved children.  As disciples of Jesus, we become integral parts of his Body and his life by our participation in the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Eucharist (also called Holy Communion or the Mass), through which we are welcomed into the family of faith and fed spiritually by God.  Through these sacraments, we are infused with the power, the love, and the life of Christ.

We believe that God really is Love and desires to draw us into that Love and share it with others.

Our website provides a glimpse into our community of faith, but the best way to get to know us is to join us in worship on Sunday morning.  Visitors are always invited to the informal weekly Coffee Hour in the Parish Hall following the 10 a.m. service.  (Parishioners who attend the 8 a.m. service also regularly join together after that service for fellowship.)

Our worship space, meeting rooms, and facilities are handicapped accessible, including a designated parking space on Bryant Street.  The Parish office is open MondayFriday from 9 a.m. 12 Noon.  You can contact us at 781-245-1374 or by e-mail at eecw@verizon.net.

Come and visit us.  At Emmanuel, we are growing in faith, growing in spirit, and growing in community.

We invite you to come and grow with us.

The Rev'd Matthew P. Cadwell

Rector
