Special Events at Emmanuel
Fall 2008 will be very busy at Emmanuel!
Please join us for as many of these special events as you can.
September 14, 2008: Kick-off Sunday! We return to our two service schedule, with a quiet service of Holy Eucharist using traditional language at 8:00 a.m. and a more contemporary Choral Eucharist at 10:00 a.m. Following the 10:00 service all are invited to a festive cookout on the church lawn and we will be registering children for church school.
September 20, 2008: Parish Yard Sale. On this Saturday we will hold our annual Yard Sale featuring all manner of treasures (books, toys, household goods, tools, etc.) and a delicious array of items in our bake sale. Donations may be dropped off at the church the week before.
September 21, 2008: Church School Resumes. Our excellent programs of chrildren's religious education for 2008-2009 begin. Children's chapel is held weekly at 9:30, with classes following. Students join their families for Communion in the church.
September 28, 2008: Choral Evensong with Magnificat. At 4:00 p.m. we will welcome our Diocesan Choir Magnificat who will lead us in a service of Choral Evensong. This is a traditional and beautiful liturgy in the Anglican tradition. All are welcome, especially those who love magnificent music.
October 9, 2008: Celebration of New Ministry and Installation of Our New Rector. At 7:00 p.m. we will hold a special, festive service to officially welcome the Rev. Matthew Cadwell as our new Rector and begin our new minsitry together. Our officiant and preacher will be Bishop Bud Cederholm. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
